I was asked to participate in an awesome program going on down in North Bergen NJ, a partnership between North Bergen PBA Local 18 and The Hudson County NJ Schools of Technology. The program is called “BuGs against DruGs” or BAD. These students are restoring a vintage convertible beetle, and I was asked to go down on Weds. December 12th 2012 to speak to them one on one about restoring a bug. We brought down my 1967 Savanna Beige beauty for them to look over and get an idea what is entailed to put one of these classics back together.
Pops and I had a great time speaking with the students, I have never met a better group of kids, they were so interested to hear what we had to say and in turn wanting to get their car done! We spoke for at least 3 hours.
We will be doing other visits to the school to show the progress of this car, it is for a great cause. These students may even head up to my shop for a field trip.
Their website is www.Bugsagainstdrugs.net check out the blogspot there for updated pics or the FB PAGE.
