Hey Volks! We have here a project that we restored 12 years ago, can’t believe how time has flown by! Since that time, the owner Frank has only put just over 750 miles on the restoration. Frank hired us to do a “Build-A-BuG” beetle back in 2011. We found this car in Mississippi at an estate, it was in rock solid condition, it did not need a body off resto, so the body has never been lifted from the chassis.
This is a numbers matching ’55 Beetle. 1955 is one of the shorter years for the beetle as it was the first year where they made the month of August be the following year car. So for ex. an August of ’55 bug will be a 1956 Bug.
These Black Beauty Babies are some of the most stunning projects we have ever done, and this ’55 was no exception. This BuG is now in the hands of Frank U. from Kansas City MO. Frank called me up in early 2010 and wanted a black bug restored to his preference, he asked what I had in stock and I told him we just got an awesome ’55 in from an estate sale from Mississippi. The car was last owned by the now deceased Oskar Zernickow. The man is a legend, look him up!
The Proud New Owner of the ’55, Frank from Kansas City MO.
This car came to us in such great SOLID original condition, it was such a time capsule seeing something this old never tampered with.
