Classic VW BuGs Heads to this Years 2013 Vintage VW Treffen in So Cal
Well it is BOOKED! I am heading out to the Vintage VW Treffen in So Cal this year. This show comes around once every two years, kinda like the events in Germany like Bad Camberg and Hessisch Oldendorf.
This is the Best of the Best in the USA, basically Concourse quality VWs show up to this show.
The So Cal Vintage Treffen is limited to 1957 and earlier Beetles and “Press Bumper” Busses, 1959 and earlier Karmann Ghias, Military Vehicles and early coachbuilts.
I am tempted to bring my 1952 Split window bug out there for the event.
I am doing some HW on how to do that, I have never shipped a car before to a show. I just thought it would be cool to see a NY plated bug stroll into a Cali show. Nothing is definite on my bug going there, but I am working on it. Regardless I will be there to soak up some sun and enjoy the VW scene. I hope to see some of my followers out there, would be great to meet you guys. My good friend “Lucky Larry” is on board to come as well. Your chance to meet a guy that worked for VW when these cars were coming off the line back in the 60s and 70s.
I filmed the event two years ago, you can view the 3 part series below. This is more of a two day event. On Saturday the 7th there will be VWs meeting at “Cars & Coffee,” in Irvine. Then at around 8am they kick off the Speedwell Rallye. It is around a 70 mile course cruising parts of the Pacific Coast, through Santiago Canyon and eventually ending at The Phoenix Club around noon. I filmed this cruise that morning, it is too nice. Then Sunday the 9th is the actual VW Show.
